The Sport of Surf Lifesaving has a long and proud history of ensuring that our members have the ability, confidence and passion to meet the challenging environments in which Surf Lifesaving delivers its essential lifesaving service.
Surf Sport is one of the pathways to becoming a lifeguard. Surf Sports develops lifeguard skills while building team work and community. Junior, Senior and Masters competitions are held at a local, regional and national level.

Summer carnivals and winter pool rescue competitions are available for all junior, senior and masters athletes. There are additional senior/lifeguard competitions throughout the year. Participation in Surf Sport competitions is highly encouraged.
Parent assistance is required to support the children at junior carnivals, as well as to make the day run smoothly.

National Junior Champs, 23-26 February (Mt Maunganui)
