Summer carnivals and winter pool rescue competitions are available for all junior, senior and masters athletes. There are additional senior/lifeguard competitions throughout the year.  Participation in Surf Sport competitions is highly encouraged.

Parent assistance is required to support the children at junior carnivals, as well as to make the day run smoothly. 

 Junior carnivals (ages 7-13) in the 2022/2023 season include:

• Rarangi Carnival,12 November (Whites Bay, Marlborough)

• Junior Surf Interclub, 29 January (Waimari Beach, Christchurch)

• Canterbury Junior Champs, 4 - 5 March (New Brighton, Christchurch)

• South Island Junior Champs, 11-12 February (Warrington Beach, Otago)

• National Junior Champs, 23-26 February (Mt Maunganui)

Senior Carnivals include:

• Senior Interclub, 10th December (South Brighton)

• Southern Challenge, 21st January (South Brighton)

• Canterbury Senior Champs, 4 February (Waimari)

• Southern Senior Champs, 18-19 February (New Brighton)

• National Senior Champs, 9-12 March (New Brighton)
